Fully-killed and fine-grained, PT-460 is a carbon-manganese steel with a guaranteed minimum tensile strength of 460MPa. It features excellent weldability and formability, making it ideal for boiler and pressure vessel applications. Grades are recognised in the ASME material code.
It is available as:
PT-460 N –
Produced by hot rolling and normalising, this is available with guaranteed low-temperature properties and also features guaranteed design strengths (as per AS1210).
PT-460 NR –
This steel is produced by normalised rolling and features guaranteed tensile-strength levels. Grades with both elevated temperature properties and guaranteed low-temperature properties are available.
PT-460 NRA –
Produced by normalised rolling, this steel is tested in the normalised and stress-relieved condition. It features guaranteed tensile strength levels and is available in grades with both elevated temperature and guaranteed low-temperature properties.
